Trident Marine Systems is involved in several off grid power plants that are responsible for supplying electrical power to secluded island locations in the Bahamas. One location recently completed is the Island of Little San Salvador, now named Half Moon Cay, purchased by Holland America Line for enjoyment for its cruise passengers. This 480 vac there phase 1.2 megawatt plant is responsible for powering the entire island.

This plant is fully automatic with auto start, parallel operation and shut down when the load decreases and automatic rotation of 3 400 KW gensets. This system incorporates the load management by way of the state of the art modern Woodward Governor Easy Gen 3000 controls.

Trident Marine Systems was responsible for engineering, manufacture and commissioning the 2 generator switchgear control panels built from scratch along with complete state of the art Auto Cad engineer drawings for the installation and control of this 1.2 megawatt plant. These panels were built to comply with all NEC and NFPA codes pertaining to the manufacture of such control panel. The panels were built with keeping in mind the remote location of this plant, the rigorous climate and terrain that this plant is located at.

All switchgear components were chosen for durability and long lasting service to ensure a long life in the remote area with minimal follow up service.
